- trauma kit
Okay so I've had to actually use mine and I got to say definitely save the day. So now I need to get another I've seen others cheaper but not vacuum sealed and I need the vacuum seal since I'm in well certain environments. However good gear cost money and life doesn't have a price 10 out of 10 I'll get again
Great setup for my war belt. So happy to finally have one. I’ve been eyeballing the trauma kit for a LONG time. I should have ordered years ago.
Don’t forget a tourniquet. One isn’t included.
This is the second time purchasing this setup (first one in FDE). When I was shopping around for a new IFAK for my current loadout, I couldn't think of any other configuration that beat the Tallboy. Perfect size for my duty belt.
Well thankfully I have not had to use the kit to save my own or a loved ones life so, I can't comment on the effectiveness of the individual components of the kit. However, they are high quality components and all the stuff you need at a minimum to help save your own or someone else's life. What I have used and will comment more about is the pouch used to store the kit. The pouch could use some more work. There is not a convenient place to store your tourniquet So, I sort of had to jam mine in the first bungee loop on the panel. Also, I added an Israeli dressing to the kit but it is difficult to store inside the kit because, there is no space to secure it so that when you rip open the kit the dressing will fall out of the kit. Another criticism of the kit is that if the sealed trauma kit is not positioned carefully it is very easy to get a corner caught in one of the zippers and tear the package open. Also, there is no place to put things like a roll of medical tape. Now that we got the negative things out of the way about the pouch let's talk about the positives. I really like how easy it is to open with one hand. That to me is an important feature if your wounded and need to provide self aid. Secondly, the stitching seems to be quality on the unit I received. I also, like the durability of the fabric it really feels like it could stand up to daily use and to wear through easily. Which is important to keep the contents of your trauma kit sterile. Overall the pouch was well thought out. It just could have used a little more attention to address the issues I mentioned and it would be perfect for me.
