top rate compass
This is my second one. The first one finally succumbed to my brutal treatment of it, from desert sand to Arctic damp/cold to ocean salt water to banging it up against farm equipment. It is the best watch band compass I have owned. USMC, Retired
Nice & tought
I use to keep one on my watch all the time in the Army 11B, never could find one that would hold up going thru the bush and firing my M60, wish i had this one, thanks ITS.
Solid, well-made, compact, flexible and hands-down a great compact compass.
Up until this point I've bought a fair amount of compact, button, SERE style and other types of compasses for EDC. Up to this point the quality of those items has varied from great to much to be desired. In addition to the precision craftsmanship of the compass itself, the PDW lanyard is a great way to attach to a variety of surfaces and attachment points from belt loops, D-rings and countless others. I bought two with the intention of having one on me every day and the other as a backup in my pack. You will not be disappointed with these and will probably want more than one. These are great as a secondary if going hiking and perfect as a primary if your EDC in an urban environment. It weighs practically nothing and its good to know you always have a means of navigation coupled with a good map of your area.
Expedition Watch Band Compass
Compass is what I expected. Perfect for attaching with velcro to my Hill People Gear kit bag as a backup to GPS.
The ONLY thing bad about this compass is...
that I didn't buy it decades ago. I've been a fan of watch band compasses ever since I was a young black boot Paratrooper many years ago. Back then we got the plastic version from the Cav Store or B.Q. and we often carried a spare because they just didn't hold up. I retired long ago but had to snag one of these because they are just so cool. They are built like a tank will last for generations! You can even replace the button compass (which is the highest quality I've ever seen) if it becomes scratched or damaged but the machined metal housing will be passed down to my grandson.
