Expedition Watch Band Compass Kit
In partnership with our friends at Prometheus Design Werx, we’re proud to introduce the ITS-exclusive black variant of the Expedition Watch Band Compass Kit. This modular EDC and field compass is as much at home on the land as it is underwater.
The oil-filled button compass is water-resistant rated to a depth of 100 meters and features a black face with high luminosity glow-in-the-dark markings. It’s also cushioned in its black type III hard-anodized 6061T6 billet aluminum bezel casing by a glow-in-the-dark silicone gasket.
Each compass case is precision machined in the USA and features a slot on the back that’s laser engraved with the ITS shield and slides onto most NATO-style watch straps up to 22mm.
While this magnetic compass’ primary function is to be worn on a NATO-style watch strap, the included orange silicone carrier easily houses the entire compass, allowing it to girth hitch onto a backpack sternum strap, belt loops and more!
*Due to the collaborative nature of this product and pricing structure, discounts are not available on the Expedition Watch Band Compass Kit.*

“…there’s still something substantial to be respected, acknowledged and said for analog and mechanical devices. The invention and introduction of the magnetic compass transformed the known world. Unreliant on batteries or circuit boards, a magnetic compass is the directional navigation tool in its most distilled and purest form. Our design process to create this modern classic drew inspiration from similar units as used and worn by UDTs, Combat Swimmers, Explorers and Adventurers from a different era. No less relevant today as it was yesterday, a compass that only needs the earth’s magnetic field to operate is a tried and trued navigational device for anyone who spends time in the field.”

top rate compass
This is my second one. The first one finally succumbed to my brutal treatment of it, from desert sand to Arctic damp/cold to ocean salt water to banging it up against farm equipment. It is the best watch band compass I have owned. USMC, Retired
Solid, well-made, compact, flexible and hands-down a great compact compass.
Up until this point I've bought a fair amount of compact, button, SERE style and other types of compasses for EDC. Up to this point the quality of those items has varied from great to much to be desired. In addition to the precision craftsmanship of the compass itself, the PDW lanyard is a great way to attach to a variety of surfaces and attachment points from belt loops, D-rings and countless others. I bought two with the intention of having one on me every day and the other as a backup in my pack. You will not be disappointed with these and will probably want more than one. These are great as a secondary if going hiking and perfect as a primary if your EDC in an urban environment. It weighs practically nothing and its good to know you always have a means of navigation coupled with a good map of your area.
The ONLY thing bad about this compass is...
that I didn't buy it decades ago. I've been a fan of watch band compasses ever since I was a young black boot Paratrooper many years ago. Back then we got the plastic version from the Cav Store or B.Q. and we often carried a spare because they just didn't hold up. I retired long ago but had to snag one of these because they are just so cool. They are built like a tank will last for generations! You can even replace the button compass (which is the highest quality I've ever seen) if it becomes scratched or damaged but the machined metal housing will be passed down to my grandson.
